About

I create space for people to meet themselves.

I'm David Sidley, although most people call me Sidders. I work with the body, breath and nervous system, helping people slow down, become present and meet what's there.

The story

It started when everything stopped.

Before my sister Jacqui died, I thought I understood life. I'd spent years around music, events and people, fascinated by human behaviour, connection and the energy we carry through life.

Like many of us, I'd absorbed the idea that fulfilment lived somewhere outside of me. Achievement, material things, the next experience. Things that somehow promised to fill whatever might be missing within us.

Then my sister died in a car accident, and every belief I had evaporated.

I had experienced depression before and knew what it was to mentally push myself through something difficult. But this was completely different. Something in me knew this needed to be met directly, without distraction. I needed to create some space to be with her.

The week after she had passed, I started getting up at five in the morning while my family slept. I'd go down into the cellar, get on a bike and ride until my body was exhausted.

Then I'd breathe.

And when there was nowhere left to run, I'd sit in the dark and allow myself to feel her loss.

I had no method. I wasn't trying to create anything. I was simply trying to meet something that felt far bigger than me.

And something began to change.

I discovered I could feel the grief without becoming it. I could meet the pain without pushing it away. I would shed tears, return to my breath, feel, breathe and stay.

As the days progressed, movement became breath, breath became stillness, and stillness gave me access to something I hadn't expected.

Beneath all of that pain was a connection to an extraordinary amount of love.

I began to understand that there was something underneath the noise of my thoughts, my conditioning and all the survival patterns I had adopted to move through the world. Something expansive, yet deeply familiar.

It took losing her for me to stop and realise this.

What began in that cellar gradually became a way of living. I began to recognise that uncomfortable feelings could be real access points to deeper understanding and truth, and that learning to stay present, listen to the body and meet what's there creates an opportunity for something far deeper to be revealed.

It became the foundation of the work I now share with others.

How I work

I'm warm, grounded and direct, and I'll meet you where you are without judgement or expectation. My role isn't to tell you what to feel or where an experience should take you, but to create the conditions for you to safely explore what's there at your own pace.

The body comes first. Through breath, nervous system work, movement, awareness and presence, we create space for what is being held to be felt and, where it is ready, to move. Understanding then emerges through integration, as the experience settles into the body and simple daily practices begin to shape the way you think, respond and relate to life.

This work isn't about creating dependency. The intention is the opposite: to help you build greater capacity to regulate, connect and trust your own experience.

The Freedom Framework isn't about fixing people. It's about creating the conditions to feel what's there, and the space to discover what comes next.

What I value

The ground I stand on.

Safety

The foundation of everything

Everything I teach is created with your sense of safety in the mind and body. It's how the body feels open enough to land and how the nervous system is able to communicate throughout the experience. What we experience in the body can then begin to reshape how we think and relate to the world around us.

Truth

Meet what's actually there

Truth begins with a willingness to meet ourselves as we are. We don't perform our way into it. We access it by giving ourselves permission to be present, to feel and to be with what is here, with curiosity, awareness and without judgement.

Freedom

Take it with you

The intention is to build your own capacity to feel, to regulate and to live fully. Through awareness, simple practices, and insight you develop something you can carry forward into everyday life, creating more space to respond to life with presence, clarity and freedom.

In their words

What people say.

When I started I often felt overwhelmed and anxious. Through Dave's guidance I've learned to use my breath to feel calmer, more grounded and in control. Every session leaves me feeling lighter, clearer and more present. He creates a safe space where you can completely relax and trust the process.
Nicola · 1:1 sessions
Dave creates a space where you feel safe to just be yourself. There's no pressure and no expectation, just gentle guidance and support. I came away with a better understanding of myself, and I'd recommend it to anyone curious about breathwork.
