Is this for me
The honest answers, including the ones that might put you off.
Health
Transformational breathwork isn’t suitable for everyone. Please read this properly before booking.
Take extra care if you have
- Epilepsy
- Pregnancy
- Severe asthma
- Antipsychotic medication or high-dose painkillers
- High blood pressure or a high resting heart rate
If any of these apply, or you have any health worries at all, you're still welcome to come. You're not obligated to do any of the practices. Plenty of people get a lot from simply being in the room.
Choosing to be somewhere you’re nervous about, on your own terms, tends to be the most useful thing that happens all evening. There’s a short health form before the event so I know who’s in the room. Please fill it in honestly — it’s for you, not for admin.
Three ways to breathe
During the journey you’ll be given three options, and you can move between them whenever you want:
- Nose only — Slow and intentional. The gentlest option.
- In through the nose, out through the mouth — A little deeper.
- Mouth to mouth — The most intense.
Or lie there and rest. That's a real option, not a consolation.
Questions people ask
- I've never done breathwork before. Is that a problem?
- No. Most people in the room are new to it. Nothing is explained in jargon and nothing assumes you've done it before.
- What if I cry in front of strangers?
- Some people do. Nobody minds, and honestly nobody's looking — everyone has their eyes closed and their own thing going on. It's one of the safer rooms you'll be in.
- What if nothing happens for me?
- That's common and it's fine. Some people have a big night, some people just feel calmer than they have in months. Neither is doing it right or wrong.
- Do I have to make noise?
- No. You can sigh, you can stay quiet, you can rest the whole way through. Nothing is compulsory at any point.
- Is this religious or spiritual?
- There's nothing you have to believe. No chakras, no ideology, no system you have to sign up to. Just breath, attention, and what your own body has to say.
One important thing
This is not medical treatment or therapy. If you're under the care of a doctor or a mental health professional, check with them first.
